crazy 'bout the game ...

... we are. now that none of my friends talks about anything else than football, and being a big fan of the game myself (and being completely mesmerized with all the crazyness happening these days, and the world cup coming up, and and and ), .... I started to scribble onto magazine pages again (like I did in 2008 the last time I think ...). pages I'm taking purely from football mags.

Just discovered this beautiful reportage about a classic game: in november 1999 barcelona played champions league against berlin - in the fog. the olympiastadium berlin was drowned in a white cloud of mist during the whole match, so that even the fans on the stands couldn't see the game. it was more like a radio play. the referee decided to play anyway, as the rules say visibility is needed to see from goal to midline only ...

thanks to 11Freunde for bringing these images back.

in the picture: barcelona's Rudolfus Hubertus (Ruud) Hesp, dutch national goalie at the times.

older magazine drawings can be found here.
